Cheetah Project

We visited the Cheetah Project in Hoedspruit while we were there. It is great to see the valuable work they do with these endangered animals. We both thought it would be such rewarding experience working in that type of setting.

Marloth Park

During the June-July Holiday a friend of Madri's invited us to join her for a week in their beautiful holiday house in Marloth Park. It is situated just outside the Kruger Park Crocodile Bridge gate and so we were able to easily go for game drives inside the Kruger. We were incredibly fortunate, or maybe it was because Madri is such a great spotter, to see the big five on two of the three days we entered the park. We were almost licky enough to see the little five also, a little rhino, a little elephant, a little leopard, and a little buffalo.
Madri se neef Peet het in Mei getrou en ons was toevalig genooi na die troue. Die troue was in Bloemfontein en ek was self nog nooit regtig in Bloem nie, so ons het sommer die geleentheid gebruik om die stad beitjie te leer ken.

Pilansberg

My family is very fortunate to have a great ouma and she organises a family weekend every year in the Pilanesberg. It sure is a beautiful park and it is always a lot of fun to catch up with the family and share our lives.

Plaas

Our Church

This is what our church 'building' looks like. We were really happy to find a church that is alive and challenges us to walk deeper with the Lord. This one is called Capital City Church International (3CI) and is a NCMI affiliated church. Anybody that is in Pretoria and would like to join us on a Sunday, just let me know and we can arrange to go together. We've even met some ppl who think Madri and i are nice people and want to be our friends. It made us feel special.

Seattle Coffee Co.

Just thought i'd put some pics of where i work from time to time. It really is a great little coffee shop, a little busy at times, but a nice little hangout. It's in Menlyn shopping mall, which is within a good walk from our flat.

Easter Holiday

We had a great relaxing holiday in Eshowe over Easter. Madri's parents moved there to take up a position within the Presbyterian church late last year and are loving it so far. We went to explore the surrounding forests and get to know the beautiful area a little better. My Zulu is not that great so i didn't understand any of the local people, but they seemed to understand me fine. We have too many photos of this holiday to put on the blog, so i created an online album with some photos if you'd like to take a look: http://picasaweb.google.com/dontelerius .

Madri's Birthday

We had a birthday get-together for Madri's birthday (which was on the 22nd of March btw), and the theme was, 'I wish I was...'. I wore my brothers bomber jacket and wished i was a bombardier and Madri dressed up pregnant, need i say more...

A day out in Pretoria

Since we are now newly Pretorians we decided to do the tourist thing and so we went touring around. Some good friends came along to fill up the extra seats in the car and so we made an occasion of it. We didn't go too far since we are still new, but found the Union Buildings and then had a picnic in the zoo. The Koala bears are the cutest!!

G&L visit

On Thursday Grant and Lorna flew over from Ireland for a short visit before they flew on to SA. It was great seeing them again!!! It shocking to think that it is already 6 months since their wedding! We went around sight seeing and exploring London for the last time then too.
