This was our first braai in the UK! Anke and Tarina came over and the weather was brilliant so we decided to try the braai thing, and it worked well.

Andrea came over for a visit!! Was great to see her again. Posted by Picasa

Our first taste of life with kids

For the last couple of days Madri and myself have had the great opportunity of experiencing some of what life might be like once we have kids of our own. My brother (and his wife) have gone to a 5 day conference in England and have asked us to look after their kids for the five days. They are truly lovely kids and we're having a great time about it, but it is rather taxing to keep a constant eye on a little being who's greatest goal is to do something wrong or hurtful to himself or others. But i guess that's why God intended 2 adults to work together at the children thing. It really just makes sense. I certainly couldn't do this alone. I feel really sorry for any woman who has to do this task alone.

Famillial visitations

This weekend was a whole lot of fun as Anke and Tarina came over to spend the weekend here at our little humble abode. We didn't keep them too busy, but we did the exploration thing to two towns around Tonbridge which we hadn't yet seen. We went to Sevenoaks, nice town, but not too much to do there and then Tunbridge Wells, much nicer. Sorry, we didn't take any photos. Then yesterday we tried to play Cranium, only to realise that it is the UK edition and we don't have any idea what the majority of things on the cards are... It took us half the pack of cards just to get off start. Was a lot of fun anyway.

First post

Well, this is my first post, so i better introduce what this is all about. I have tried for some time to keep my website up to date, but that is far too much trouble, so i've decided to move over to a more simpler blogspot. So from now on you can read all the news of my life and that of my wife right here. How cool is that??? or even cooler, 'Ist das nicht cool?' in the words of Louise.
